Our full water treatment range

Every product line has its own page explaining what it does, where it is used and how it is dosed.

Where each chemical goes in a treatment plant

A typical water treatment train, and the chemicals used at each stage. Most plants use only some of these stages.

Clarification

Removes mud, colour and turbidity from raw water.

Filtration

Traps particles, iron and manganese; corrects pH and fluoride.

Carbon and dechlorination

Removes chlorine, odour, taste and organics before RO.

Softening and DM

Removes hardness, or all dissolved salts for boilers and process water.

Reverse osmosis

Keeps membranes free of scale, slime and fouling.

Post-treatment and disinfection

Adds back minerals, sets pH and keeps stored water safe.

Boilers, cooling towers and effluent plants

Find the right chemical by problem

Common water problems, what usually causes them and what helps. A water test confirms the cause.

What you see Usual cause What helps
RO output falling, pressure rising Scale or fouling on membranes
Slime in RO or frequent membrane cleaning Biofouling
Yellow, red or brown stains; metallic taste Iron and manganese
White scale on geysers, taps and boilers Hardness
Cloudy or muddy water Suspended solids
Chlorine smell, odour or bad taste Chlorine and organics
High fluoride in borewell water Natural fluoride
Acidic water, blue-green stains, leaks Low pH
Pitting in boiler tubes Dissolved oxygen
Corrosion in condensate lines Carbon dioxide in steam
Algae and slime in cooling tower Microbial growth
Foam in aeration tank Surfactants, process upset
STP smell, high BOD and COD Weak bacteria
Wet sludge, poor settling Poor flocculation
Coloured effluent even when COD is in limits Dissolved dyes
Infection control in hospitals and clinics Surfaces, instruments and air
Green or cloudy pool Low chlorine, algae

How our water analysis review works

  1. Send your report or a photo of it on WhatsApp or through the form below. No report? Tell us the problem and we will tell you which tests to get.
  2. We review the key readings such as TDS, hardness, pH, iron, turbidity and chlorine, or COD, BOD and TSS for effluent.
  3. You get a recommendation: which products, where to dose them, a starting dose and suitable pack sizes.
  4. Quote and delivery anywhere in India.

Frequently asked questions

What are water treatment chemicals?

Water treatment chemicals are products used to make water fit for a purpose: coagulants and flocculants to remove solids, antiscalants and inhibitors to prevent scale and corrosion, biocides and disinfectants to control microbes, and media such as activated carbon and resins to remove specific substances.

What water treatment chemicals does Zyax supply?

RO antiscalants and membrane cleaners, polyelectrolytes and coagulants, poly aluminium chloride and alum, ETP and STP chemicals and bacteria culture, defoamers, boiler and cooling tower chemicals, peracetic acid and other biocides, activated carbon, ion exchange resins, filter media and swimming pool chemicals.

Do you publish prices?

Prices depend on the product, grade and quantity, so we quote on request. Fill in the form or WhatsApp us with the product and quantity you need.

Can you recommend chemicals if I send my water report?

Yes. Send your water or effluent analysis with your plant type and capacity, and we will recommend suitable products and pack sizes.

Do you deliver outside Mumbai?

Yes, we deliver across India.

What is the difference between a coagulant and a flocculant?

A coagulant (such as PAC, alum or PolyDADMAC) neutralises the charge on fine particles so they can stick together. A flocculant (such as polyelectrolyte) then bridges them into large flocs that settle or filter out quickly.

Which chemicals are used in an RO plant?

Typical RO chemicals are an antiscalant, sodium metabisulphite to remove chlorine, membrane cleaning chemicals, an RO biocide, and post-treatment chemicals such as a pH booster or minerals.

Which chemicals are used in a cooling tower?

A scale and corrosion inhibitor, a dispersant, and biocides: an oxidising biocide alternated with a non-oxidising one.
