What is Quartz Sand, Gravel and Pebbles?
A pressure sand filter traps suspended solids as water passes through layers of graded media. Gravel and pebbles support the bed and spread the flow; quartz sand does the filtering.
For pools, glass filter media is an alternative to sand.
