How to get a wet look on stone with a colour enhancer
A colour enhancer soaks into the stone, deepens its natural colour and veining, and protects it from water and stains at the same time. It suits honed, brushed, flamed and aged stone, Kota, slate, sandstone, terracotta and dark granite. The change is long-lasting, so always try it on a spare piece first.
How to apply (MA 90/V method)
- Clean off all dust and dirt.
- Make sure the stone is completely dry. Never apply to wet or damp stone.
- Check the temperature: the surface should be between +5 and +40°C. On terraces, avoid the midday sun and work early or late in the day.
- Protect nearby surfaces with tape and sheeting.
- Test on a hidden area or spare piece.
- Apply an even, generous coat with a brush, lambswool applicator or roller.
- After 5–10 minutes, spread any surplus until the surface looks even.
- Leave it to dry (1–2 hours) without touching up, or the finish may be patchy.
- Optional: after 4–6 hours, dry-buff for extra shine. Open to foot traffic after 4–6 hours.
