What is Hospital Disinfectants?
Infection control in a hospital needs different disinfectants for different jobs. Floors and surfaces need a broad-spectrum cleaner-disinfectant; instruments that cannot be heat-sterilised need high-level disinfection; operating theatres and ICUs are often fogged; hands and skin need antiseptics that are gentle on skin.
We supply the active ingredients and ready formulations used for each of these jobs. The right choice depends on the surface, the contact time available and the organisms of concern.
Where Hospital Disinfectants is used
- Room and OT fogging: silver hydrogen peroxide
- Instrument disinfection: glutaraldehyde and peracetic acid
- Floors and surfaces: quaternary ammonium (BKC) blends and PHMB
- Skin and hand antiseptics: chlorhexidine gluconate
- Water tanks and lines: sodium hypochlorite and silver hydrogen peroxide
How to use Hospital Disinfectants
- Clean first: remove dirt and organic matter, which reduces disinfectant performance.

- Keep the surface wet for the full contact time on the label.
