What is Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC) 50% and 80%?
BKC is a cationic surfactant with broad antimicrobial action. Formulators use it as the active ingredient in surface disinfectants, sanitisers and cleaners, while in water treatment it acts as a non-oxidising biocide and algaecide.
It foams and is inactivated by some anionic detergents, so formulation and compatibility matter.
