What is Sodium Hypochlorite?
Sodium hypochlorite releases chlorine in water, which disinfects quickly and leaves a measurable residual. It is the most common way to disinfect treated sewage that is reused for flushing or gardening, and to disinfect storage tanks and raw water.
Its strength falls over time, faster in heat and sunlight, so it should be stored cool and used fresh. Chlorine must be removed with SMBS before any RO membrane.

How to use Sodium Hypochlorite
- Dose into a contact tank so the water has enough contact time.

- Dechlorinate with SMBS before RO or where discharge limits require it.

Can I use hypochlorite before an RO plant?
