What is Bacteria Culture for STP and ETP?
Biological treatment depends on a healthy population of bacteria in the aeration tank. After a new start-up, a long shutdown, a toxic shock or a heavy overload, that population can be too small to treat the incoming load, and the outlet BOD, COD and smell rise.
A bacteria culture adds a large dose of suitable micro-organisms to rebuild the population quickly, alongside the right aeration, nutrients and sludge management.

How to use bacteria culture

- Maintain with smaller doses until performance is stable.
- Monitor MLSS, settling, BOD and COD and adjust.

How long does bacteria culture take to work?
