What is Sodium Sulphite for Boilers?
Oxygen scavengers remove the dissolved oxygen left after the deaerator; oxygen in hot boiler water causes pitting corrosion of tubes, drums and feed lines.
Sodium sulphite reacts quickly with oxygen and is easy to test. It adds dissolved solids to the boiler water, so it is mainly used in low and medium pressure boilers.
