What is Water Softener Resin?
Hard water leaves scale in boilers, geysers, pipes and RO membranes. A softener passes water through a bed of cation resin that captures calcium and magnesium and releases sodium in their place.
When the resin is exhausted it is regenerated with brine made from softener salt, which restores it for the next cycle.
