What is DM Plant Resins (Cation and Anion)?
A two-bed DM plant passes water first through cation resin, which exchanges metals for hydrogen, then through anion resin, which exchanges anions for hydroxide. The result is water with very low conductivity.
Cation resin is regenerated with acid and anion resin with caustic soda. A mixed bed unit is often added after the two beds for polishing.
