What is Polyamine Coagulant?
Polyamines are organic cationic coagulants. They neutralise particle charge efficiently and help break oil-in-water emulsions, which makes them useful in industrial effluents as well as raw water treatment.
Where polyamine is used
- Turbidity and colour removal
- Oily effluent and emulsion breaking
- Reducing inorganic coagulant use
How to use polyamine
- Jar test alone and with PAC or alum.
- Dose at a rapid-mix point.
- Follow with a flocculant if needed and monitor the outlet.

Frequently asked questions
Polyamine or PolyDADMAC: which is better?
Both are cationic coagulants; the better one depends on the water. A jar test comparing them is the quickest way to decide.
